The “Blueberry” Residence is centered on the idea of bringing family together. This family of four emphasized their desire to create a home meant to be enjoyed by extended family and friends, both now and for generations to come.
Nestled in the rolling hillside landscape, this retreat home takes advantage of two hundred and seventy degrees of captivating mountain, town and valley views. The goal of both plan and form is to connect the inside and outside in order to weave together the land and the architecture. Transparency throughout the property is an integral part of the design, and the house becomes fully integrated with the land when the sun lights the cladding which reflects the deep colors of the surrounding desert. A central courtyard gives privacy, shelter from harsher weather, and a secure place for the family pet.
